    • CIPC document for companies, as applicable
    • Founding document for Cooperatives as applicable
    • Proof of residence for all the applicants (company directors, members of cooperatives and unemployed graduates)
    • Confirmation of unemployment status for matriculants and unemployed graduates

Part (e) Learner Agreement

Terms and Conditions

  1. Each training event will be conducted over 1day from 830 to 1300.
  2. The Training programme is not pivotal, meaning that it is not credited and will not result in a credited academic qualification. A certificate of attendance will be provided to students who successfully complete the training and have provided all required documentation.
  3. The training programme will be offered to the students for free and thus the students are not obliged to make any payment to Rush Accountants.
  4. Rush Accountants is not obliged to make any form of payment to the students.
  5. The Parties acknowledge their respective obligations to comply with the substantive provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (hereinafter referred to as ‘POPI’). The personal information received shall not be further processed or disclosed without the consent of the disclosing party. The persons signing this agreement acknowledge that they know and understand their right to privacy and to have their personal information processed in accordance with the conditions for the lawful processing of their personal information, and hereby give their consent to Rush Accountants to collect, process and distribute relevant personal information where Rush Accountants is legally required, and/or obliged to do so.
  6. Legal Declaration and Indemnity
    Neither Rush Accountants nor any official employee or representative of Rush Accountants acting in his/her capacity as such shall be liable for any damages arising out of death, bodily harm, loss of health or illness of any customer caused, and the destruction of and/or damage and/or loss and/or theft of any property owned by or in the custody of any student, howsoever caused.
  7. The students consent to the recording of the lectures that are going to be conducted under this program for Rush Accountants’ quality control, feedback and development of intellectual capital.
  8. At all the times all know how and any Intellectual Property Rights of whatsoever nature in and to any techniques principles and formats and in all proprietary materials, software, programs, macros, algorithms, modules methodologies and anything else used by or created by the Supplier in putting together a Proposal or carrying out the Services which are of a generic nature or otherwise not produced exclusively for Rush Accountants shall at all times remain the exclusive property of Rush Accountants.
  9. The terms stated in items 1- 8 above, constitute the contract between Rush Accountants and the student and no alterations and/or verbal representations shall be of any force or effect unless such is reduced to writing and signed by parties to this agreement.

This course is FREE OF CHARGE. Students that qualify for this course will not need to pay to attend as the course is funded by FASSET.

Course Synopsis

This course is not accredited by the relevant qualification authority in South Africa and as such it is not a credit bearing course and will not lead to a recognised qualification.

This course is meant for SMME owners and managers, most of whom have limited knowledge of financial and business management, yet they have to make decisions on the day to day running of the business. Whilst attending this course will not make the SMME owners and managers financial experts, it enables them to have a sound basis for making informed decisions in some business decisions and understanding the type of help they would require from and expert.

Duration and course times

This is a two-day course that is going to be run from 830 to 1230 on each of the two days.

Course outline

  1. Determinants of the choice of business type and the initial feasibility assessment.
  2. The art of gauging the market, competition, customer prospects and response to competition.
  3. Understanding the basics of starting a business.
  4. Creating a credible business plan and venture viability for an existing or new venture.
  5. The practical aspects of raising finance and an in-depth appreciation of the sources of finance.
  6. Human Capital development, including hiring and training of staff members.
  7. An overview of some of the financial management challenges for small businesses such as budgeting and forecasting, procurement and cash flow management and understanding financial statements.
  8. Growing the business

Incentives for participants

We will offer the following incentives to SMME owners/Managers that attend for whole two days of training. This will be done via a draw that is going to be done at the programme :

  • 2 prizes or R25 000 each for two SMMEs
  • 3 prizes for SMMEs to be assisted financial management support relating to any future application for funding within the next three years, such as cash flow projection, credible business plan and project teaser.

Gladman is the head of Technical Accounting and Applied Finance at Rush Accountants. Gladman is a subject matter expert in Corporate and Public Sector Economics/Finance and lectures the subject to varied audiences including prospective Chartered Accountants and working professionals . He is a marker and Question setter for SAICA’s ITC.

Gladman is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in various aspects of structured business advisory. He is involved in the financial due diligence for a number of companies for the deals for which he is the head transaction advisor.
